This is a personal journal that I created in order to dish about my life as a graduate student. It is primarily written for myself. However, if you are interested in the procedures, disappointments and academics of graduate school, feel free to read.
About me?
I'm interested in genetics, and it's application in a variety of fields. I did my undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology and Genetics, and am hoping to continue that train of thinking in graduate school.
I'm an avid coffee and tea drinker. My idea of a 'perfect' evening involves vegging on the couch with a good book, a heavy blanket, and a glass of peppermint tea.
When I'm not at school, I engage in an extreme form theater geekery; Broadway, plays, Shakespeare, and foreign musicals are all some of the many things that appeal to me. I just returned from New York where I got to see a mish-mash of current Broadway musicals and plays.
I love traveling. Each summer, I head to a different country or province to work. My favorite place to live was Auzat, France. Staying in a town with 600 people and one bar (with no other stores in sight) was a blast. My least favorite place was Tokyo, Japan. It was too big, crowded, and detached to appeal to my tastes.
